Here is my display case for my clay presentation. My partner and I displayed the class's pinch pots. We also displayed the case using black construction paper and colorful "paint splatters" with each student's name. The theme of the display is "Clay'rative Creatures."
I would use a display like this one for my class after working with clay as well. I would use this when presenting my class monsters after reading the book "Where the Wild Things Are." Therefore, the entire school would be able to view the class project.

Here are my five elements and principles of design.  This picture reveals space. The up-close cookie portrays a vast amount of space as the soccer field is shown in the back. This picture revels texture. Looking closely, you can see the fur on my dog, which portrays a soft-like texture. This picture reveals balance. This is my "Ocean" piece made out of paper mache. I cut out the outline of the picture, as well as the sea creatures with black construction paper. Then, I tore pieces of paper mache and put them on a piece of sticky paper. I liked this piece of artwork specifically because it looks very bright and unique when hung-up in a window which allows for light to shine through. An extension activity for this project would include working with kindergarteners. I would use paper mache after working with shapes. After reviewing specific shapes, I would have the students cut out a pre-outlined shape of their choice. Then, I would have them cut or rip pieces or paper mache of sorts of colors and stick them onto the sticky paper. I would then hang these pieces of shapes in the window to brighten the classroom!

Here is my "Vincent Van Gogh" art piece. I created this piece using paper mache as the background. Once I tore pieces of paper mache and glued them in the background, I then covered the entire paper with modge podge to secure each piece. After letting the paper dry, I then cut out a city landscape out of black construction paper, added windows and a background of patterns with a white oil pastel. This related to Vincent Van Gogh's piece called "Starry Night." An extension activity I would complete with this project involves a social studies lesson with 4th graders. After discussing a specific area of the world, such as, Egypt, the students would create their own landscape such as the one shown. For example, the students would cut out a pyramid and put it on black construction paper, and covering the background in paper mache to create a night landscape.
